
Bassist and composer Kris Metz graduated from the Perpich Center for Arts Education where she was a double bass and composition major. She also studied bass with Mark Lewis Kausch of the Lyra Baroque Orchestra and Michael Havnanian of the Chicago Symphony. She has performed in orchestras and ensembles throughout the upper Midwest including the Honors Chamber Ensemble at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and the Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company as well as being a guest performer with Zeitgeist. Her work has been performed at the Midwest String Teachers Association conference, the Upper Midwest String and Chamber conference, Northwestern University, Bethel University and throughout the Midwest and in Europe by other various orchestras and ensembles. She also plays cello with folk musician Bob Frey and in the improvisational folks noise-band Astronaut Coopers Parade (ACP). She has taught bass and cello to children and adults of all ages.
